Facial Fungus, Nose Neighbor, Soup Strainer, Lip Spinach… Guys, has it really been a year since the last Movember?

Hard to believe, but it is indeed time to ditch those razors, bin the shaving cream and grow some face fur as the month of the moustache is back in a bid to raise funds and awareness for men’s health – in particular for protrate and testicular cancer.

The funds raised in the UK are directed to programmes run by Movember and their men’s health partners, Prostate Cancer UK and the Institute of Cancer Research.

Last year there were plenty of Swansea students sporting some absolutely fantastic taches and contributing to the £250 million raised by over 22,000 people in the UK alone. In 2011, more than 854,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas got involved around the world, raising £7.93 million.  This year should be even better, with more students than ever pledging to wear their Mo with pride.

So get involved, not only because this is a highly amusing way to raise money for an important cause; the Siren is also running a competition to track down the best crumb catcher on campus. All you need to do is take a picture of your moustache at the end of the month and send it in with your name and contact number so we can let you know if you’ve won!
